help! i'm a sleepwalking insomniac

Ok, so most of you know that I'm not the world's greatest sleeper. Most of the time, I can't fall asleep before 3 am, and will wake at the sound of a pin drop. This leaves me exhausted a lot of the time, which causes me to be grumpy....and even if my grumpiness is considered to be cute by some, I still need energy and patience to chase after the little ones at work.
Now for various reasons, I've been waking up super early for the past few nights. These causes range from having nightmares about car accidents (sorry, it didn't involve Zac Efron), to creepy text messages, and to yes, you guessed it- I started sleepwalking again!
I started sleepwalking when I was younger, but it never got too out of hand. It would only happen occasionally, and I would usually wake myself up without causing too much damage.
After I moved away from home, it got a little worse....Especially when I lived in a house with my room attached to a sun-room that led outside....but that's another story for another day.
Lately, it seems as if the reason for my sleepwalking is because I 'wake up' confused and start looking for a certain person. Now, I'm not one to point fingers, but I think I would be safe to say that this is all Jonathan's fault. So, next time you see him, give him a hard time for me for messing with my sleep schedule.
Well, I must go check my closet to make sure the little people aren't going to come out while I try to get some more sleep.

Oh, and this has nothing to do with this entry, other than the title is "sleepwalking" but I absolutely love this picture.

Your secret's out, LaDasha!

Well, it seems as if I've lost a good friend of mine, LaDasha.
She's been missing for quite a few weeks now, and it was a strange coincidence that she disappeared around the same time that Dr.Jon Pie did...After several attempts of contact, she finally returned my call. As it turns out, she has been with Dr.Jon Pie this entire time! Here's our conversation:
Me: "It's about time you returned my call! What in the world is going on with you and Jon Pie?"

LaDasha: "Oh girrrrl, let me tell ya. This guy ain't like all the other playas out there. I ain't gotta worry about him messin around on me like those others do. I know I will never catch him seein other girls, especially not that trick named Rachel. uh uhhhh. We are in love, and ain't no one gonna mess this up for us. That's why we ran away. Too much drama."

Me: "Oh wow, you and Dr.Jon Pie? I didn't see that one coming. Well, I'm glad you're in love and all that stuff, but where did you go?"

LaDasha: "You think I'm gonna tell you? If I do, you'd just go and run your mouth to that Jonathan boy, then he'd be all up in our business asking Dr.Jon Pie a bunch of dumb-ass questions."

Me: "Well, he is supposed to be his counselor, after all."

LaDasha:"You tell that honky that he seems to be doing just fine without my man's advice. And if we decide to come back, I'll holla at ya. But girl, I gotta go now, talk to ya later. Peace and blessings!"

Hmmm, so the rumors were true. I'm not sure if I want them to come back or not. It would probably be really weird to see them together as a couple....

Thankful Thursday- Tribute to Will Ferrell

Today, I am thankful for one of my favorite actors, Will Ferrell. He has made me laugh, and has been giving me funny quotes to use for many years.

A little about him: He was born July 16, 1967 in Irvine, CA. His mom was an elementary school teacher, and his dad was a guitarist for the Righteous Brothers. His parents were originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC.
He got his start on Saturday Night Live in 1995, where he stayed for 7 years.
A few of my favorite movies that he's in include: A Night at the Roxbury, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zoolander, Old School, Elf,  Step Brothers, and Anchorman.

 Some of my favorite quotes:

"I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal."

"I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany."

"I'm in a glass case of emotion!"

"We're going streaking!"

"Hey, if you were a hotdog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself?"

"That's why I come up here. Naaaaature! Goulet!"

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I will kick you repeatedly in the balls, Gardocki!"

"Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time"
Hi! I'm Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?

How could you not love this face?

And, if for some reason you've been living under a rock, or you are just too stupid to realize how awesome this guy is, go check out some of his stuff. it's always a good time.

word of the week- invective

This week's word is brought to you by the letter "I"!

invective: insulting or abusive language

I have to say, I was very excited to use this word because it reminds me of a quote from the Hangover that I use a lot.
Sorry for the short lesson plan today, but I'm a little behind.

Second (or third) chances

I know this is going to sound very similar to a blog written recently by someone very close to me, but in my defense, I had this written before he posted his. So, I guess it's safe to say, we are even more alike than we thought. (uh oh!)

Dear Blog,

I am aware that I've greatly neglected you these past few days. It's nothing personal, it's just that my time has been occupied by better, more important things.
Now I know that I promised you a commitment of a daily entry, but I have found it hard to keep my promise, as my heart is not as into you as it once was. This isn't your fault.....it's just that he makes me a lot happier than you ever could. Please don't try to change yourself for me- you are a just a blog, after all.
It also doesn't help that my netbook isn't working properly, so I haven't had the convenience of writing in you at my leisure.
Although it's going to require a lot of effort on my part to find time for you and deal with the hassle of having to use my parent's computer until mine is fixed, I promise that I will try better if you will just give me a second chance.

Love,
Laura

I really hope my blog (and my followers) decide to give me another chance.....because I'm all about second (or 3rd) chances :)

Word of the Week- hector

This week's word is brought to you by the letter "h"!

The word of the week is Hector: to bully or harass.

Now, I personally have never been bullied, but I've seen it happen to others. If you don't know what bullying is, here is a quick overview:

Sometimes bullying starts at a very young age. And for those kids, I hate to say it, but there is just simply no hope...

(I was totally joking about the no hope thing of course)

It also seems that bullying evolves over time to keep up with technology and trends...

It went from shoving each other in lockers to hacking into computers and blogging? Go figure.
Anyway, I must go hector the person who put gave my computer a virus until he pays for me to get it fixed.
this is what i'm going to do to him until he gives in.

thoughtful tuesday- work edition

Work....it's something we all have to do, but most of us would rather be doing something else. I have had lots of experience working, as I have had more jobs than I can count on my fingers and toes. Some people say that I go through so many jobs because I have too high of expectations of what work should be. Others say I'm just lazy (no arguing there) and then there are the few people who know me well enough to know that I just get bored easily, and it's hard for me to stay with one thing for too long. I have had several jobs that I absolutely loved, and others that I absolutely hated. Right now, I'm only working enough to get by, and it's with kids, so naturally I'm happy with work at the moment. But soon, I'm going to have to get a second job to afford school, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to hate every minute that I have to be at work, instead of spending time with my loved ones or sleeping.
There are a few key elements that I have learned about the working world from my experience, so hopefully I can use them to my advantage with my quest for finding more work. If nothing else, maybe I can help someone who is actually reading this, or at least entertain you for a moment...

When trying to get a job, you must have experience, a flexible schedule, be willing to kiss butt on command, and have an outstanding resume.

Also, it helps if you look important. Be sure to suit-up, and carry a briefcase around, even if it's just filled with crackers.

Another thing to remember is to never be late....because that's the only time your time actually matters.

And remember: Always work hard and do your best.

I'm not quite sure where I was going with all this, other than to say: "Let the search for the second job begin!"

I am awesome

It seems as if a lot of my time has been accounted for lately, leaving me practically frantic trying to throw together a blog last minute. I don't want to just post pictures all the time, because that would just be lazy.   :)
But whenever that happens (which I'm sure it will time and time again) just keep in mind that I have something better to do. Besides, I can get away with it, because....
I AM AWESOME!!!!
